I had a older version of these shears - this is much better. To be able to swivel the blade is really useful on occasions and the mechanism works much better. However this is only suitable for grass, coarse grass is a bit too much and twigs are too much for it. Keep it to grass and it will work fine.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Could be designed better!
Could be designed better! Two things that could be improved ..... (1) it would help if the blades were at an angle to the operating handles so you don't have to drag your knuckles along the ground to use them for cutting grass, and (b) because one blade is fixed and one moves (instead of both moving like conventional shears) it keeps twisting your wrist to the left as you cut. OK, nitpicking you say, but usually Wilkinson gear is perfect, and these design flaws knock off a couple of stars for me - however, the actual build quality is extremely good.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice good quality hand shears
Really good value for money, didn't expect that much because of how cheap the item was, but very pleasantly surprised. I used it for the first time this weekend and it did not disappoint. I particularly like the fact the blades can be rotated instead of having to cut at awkward angles. If I had to be really picky and I mean really really picky, then the button that holds the blades closed is a little temperamental but once I got the hang of it, which was quite quickly then great. Great for trimming delicate grass areas and also for sculpting the bushes. The blade is good quality and action very easy, I like the fact that you can twist the handle 90 degrees to effectively cut on the side. This is a must have hand tool for gardening. There is nothing better for lawn edging and tidying scruffy bits. Friends have bought cheaper Aldi copies and then had to throw them away after moderate use. I just bought a second pair for my allotment.
