A Great British Painter
John Ward who died at the age of 90 was a well known British Portrait Painter. He also taught Prince Charles the art of painting and during the 2nd World War he recorded much of the emotion of the time. Shortly before his death he illustrated a small book of some unknown work of Jane Austen, in aid of the refurbishing of the tower of Godmersham Church. Jane Austen's brother is remembered in the Church. Wonderful man.
