Yale Keyless door lock
I've been wanting to get a front door lock that doesn't need a key for ages. Finally done it and it's great. This Yale works brilliantly, well thought out. Battery operated, but they've thought of everything, if the batteries die after you haven't acted on the warnings to replace them, there are very discreet terminals to touch one of those rectangular batteries with the two terminals at the top to, and then you can swipe, etc. to unlock. The batteries should last for at least a year, so not going to be a common problem, but fantastically thoughtful detail. I've had the lock for about 2 months now and it's working very well. I use both the key pad to let myself in if I've been for a walk or run and didn't want to carry my keys. If I've just been driving then I have my keys in my hand so I swipe the tag in front of the key pad and it unlocks. So satisfying!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Poor design and unreliable
These locks are very unreliable in my experience. Had two where the clutches don’t work after a time. There is mo backup so if this fails you are locked out. Also the ‘connected ’ part works with only one type of add on module at a time so you cannot have z-wave and the remote fob at the same time - it is either / or. For z-wave to work you need a close-by hub or repeater if the lock is more than a few yards away. Worth waiting until this tech develops more I think.Verified purchase: Yes

Fantastic smart lock for a wooden door.
I’m using this product on my Airbnb properties and it brings so much help as I no longer have to be present when my guest arrives. Disappointed
It’s a no it unfair to say missed the mark as it was as described spares only. Unfortunately there was nothing I could use as components were from an older model. Yale Smart Lock - would buy again!
This is a very good replacement for a night latch's lock cylinder. An additional 20mm hole needs to be drilled for the exterior lock's wires to connect to the battery pack. Once that hole is drilled correctly, it's a simple matter of installing. The lock comes with a card and a keyring fob that you can program with the lock and can take 18 more cards/fobs and up to 20 PINs.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works a treat. Fitting was fairly straightforward but I took my time and read the instructions thoroughly! Having all the right tools helps avoid frustration especially when I found the new night latch staple was 2mm out. Time will tell how reliable it is but I don't envisage any problems especially as it's for an apartment door so not exposed to the elements and possible corrosion. Having said that I've seen some of these on external doors with the chrome completely weathered off and yet still functioning. Also I think feeding the wire through carefully, not over twisting it or snagging it affects performance. Don't forget to only use non rechargeable batteries.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
