Simple - and replaces two items.
This is brilliant - I needed to link my Mini-DV Camcorder to my Mac and most of the searches that I did on the 'net suggested three items were needed. First a Firewire 400 cable, then a Firewire 400 to 800 converter and then a Thunderbolt to Lightning converter. This little beauty replaced the first two - meaning one less connection and therefore one less potential problem. Worked like a dream!

It Works
Connected to an old Panny video camera. Old camera only used with firewire in the past but this firewire800 cable worked fine. Icing on the cake was that the latest software with current camera recognised the connection and downloaded the movies from the DV tapes.
