A big step up for not much cash
Great little budget SDR, a big improvement on the £10-and-under generic RTL-SDRs with much better frequency accuracy, stability, and a compact metal case. Tons less frequency drift on this compared to my old generic unit, definitely a worthwhile upgrade and still very reasonably priced. Nice to have a proper SMA connector on it, too. I do also like the compact case, so if you want you can have two in adjoining USB slots. Sure, it's still an 8 bit ADC at heart so it won't have the dynamic range of some alternatives - but those cost three times as much! This unit gives a lot of performance for the money. Another great thing about these is the vast range of software support. Just about any SDR software will work with these, it's as close as SDRs get to plug-and-play.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Little gem..!!
I really can't fault this receiver at all because it tick's all the right boxes. It's great looking, very small, very well made and works amazingly well especially with SDR-SHARP. Frequency stability is extremely good even when it's working hard which puts it in a league of it's own. Much better frequency stability.
Compared to the cheaper ones, the frequency stability of this is extremely good and it works well with HDSDR software from around 24MHz upwards. The direct sampling mode does work for lower frequencies but the sensitivity is very poor. Almost like something is not connected internally?
