We have had a number of kettles over the years, and up to now this has been the best.

Despite being a German firm this product is now made in China with a resulting loss in quality: the maximum safe water level 1.7litres is set too high, as water/steam come out at the top Never fill above 1.5 litres (in my opinion) The instructions say that children above the age of 8 years can use it: stick to 1 litre maximum if you are showing a child how to use this and warn them that the body of the kettle (apart from the handle) gets very hot and remains very hot for quite a considerable time after being boiled; I reckon 10 years upwards would be a much safer guideline. I am still sticking with Braun because the basic design is good, but will research further for the next kettle

Kettle boiled once then failed, tested fuse, cable, and element connections with continuity tester, seems the element (non user replaceable) has failed, not very good for a Braun product ..... it can only be down to poor manufacturing & Quality control, however if can get a replacement that works I may possible say its a nice kettle that initially boiled quickly at 3kwh, but may be that's the problem, the element is not rated (built) to run run at 3kwh ! hence a short life span, in this case only one boil !. Currys please update your Quality Control on your products !.

A direct replacement for my old one. Really liked this kettle, did look around at others but nothing to match for my requirements & use. Looks good, easy to fill either via spout or lid.
