Eyles' book is a very handy visual and historic resource for the history of Doulton's factory in London's Southside at Lambeth. Lambeth was the "artistic" atelier as compared to its Burslem (Stoke on Trent) factory, which produced sewer tiles, sanitary products and lower end items. This book has many photos and references which give the casual collector fun facts, and gives to studious collectors idea of what is worth collecting today. It is not a values book, which is fine. It lists many of the individual workers at Lambeth, their monograms and ideas of who taught them what. Very useful.

The condition is not as perfectly adequate for a Doulton Lambeth collector like me. The number of graphs and illustrations make the book an essential for those who are interested in the subject. Recommended.
