    In your face burglars

I found this incredibly easy to install, you plug in the hub, download the app - update the software. Activate the batteries items in the kit are pre linked and it’s easy to link additional items. You then test the signal strength of your sensors in the desired locations, I had full strength even in my garage which is detached. You can name the sensors so you know which one has been triggered. Installed the box and key pad and it was ready to go. You can carry out a walk test to ensure everything is working as it should. The app has quite a few features on it so you will need to play about with it for a bit until you know your way around it. It’s true the instructions aren’t that great but it’s pretty self explanatory and the app pretty much runs you through it. I installed the key pad at the point of entry and not upstairs like it says in the introductions, otherwise you’ll need to be fumbling around with your phone when you come home. On the key pad you need to press the unlock button then input your code before it will deactivate, that’s pretty much the only thing that confused me a bit. I bought three pet sensors because of my daft cat - so far so good. You can get app notifications when the alarm is armed/disarmed and sms if the alarm goes off. I paid £224 for the hub kit with outside box, 2 sensors 1 door contact sensor 1 key pad which I thought was a good price. You can omit certain sensors with the part arm function. There are no weird expensive special batteries to replace thy were either AA or AAA and the larger D for the alarm box. I have not had any false alarms since installing it. So in conclusion- if you have a smart phone and can use it and know how to drill some holes in a wall you’ll be fine with this and I would definitely recommend it. Plenty of peace of mind now.

Nice product but not as easy to install as Yale would have you believe.

Product worked ok eventually. Yale help useless, cant'get through on the phone, Emails go unanswered. Your left to figure it out for yourselves using the sketchy manual. There are so many variants of this product that the utube demos pose more question than they answer. A decent technical writer is needed at Yale. The app seems to work ok so far. If you are not very technical I would strongly suggest you use a professional installer.

  • Smart home alarm

Bought new on eBay saving £’s. Felt confident with the Yale brand and support network. Fitting the wireless PIR's, Keypad, hub and external siren was physically easily but set up was a bit daunting (and I’m not afraid of technology). All the components already set up on the system but there are quite a few minor inputs required. However, within the 3 hours allowed online the system was working using the phone app to arm and disarm. The keypad did cause me some difficulty in that it would arm but not disarm, making for a quick opening of the phone app to silence the siren. After consulting 'troubleshooting' I found I’d not 'initialised' the keypad. This done I still had the same problem and the help desk quickly ran me through it. Turned out I needed to press the disarm padlock before the numeric code! Yes it is a little complicated. Maybe a bit confusing, but I’m much happier with my security now. Should the alarm be disarmed while out, or intruders activate it, I get an immediate notification on the phone. We have a cctv camera system (not Yale) too by which we can remotely view by smartphone. I was complacent about security until next door but one was burgled just before Christmas and ransacked, losing all their presents and more. They did not have an alarm. Now, after that wake up call, we can rest easy in the knowledge that our home is no easy target for the opportunist burglar or thief. I recommend this system without hesitation and only give 4 stars as I suspect some buyers would baulk at the complexity. Don’t, there is good back up support at hand.

  • A quality system from Yale

In the market for an alarm system for the house and after looking to things, I kept coming back to the Yale Smart Home Alarm System. It's easy to install, though the instructions could do with a rewrite and being better laid out as there is a fair bit of cross over and contradiction between what's in the box and the install video on Yale's website. The system is easy to use and being able to activate the system when your out of the house is brilliant. Along with the notifications that are sent to your phone, when it's armed, disarmed or when it's set off. I also like the idea of being able to expand on the system by adding items at a later date. I would recommend this to anyone.

  • Good Easy Fit Alarm

With a little bit of 'techno savvy' this is very easy to install and setup. I'm not the best with DIY but found fitting all of the devices around my house fairly straight forward. The phone software is simple enough and all sensors were added with a couple of button clicks. The bell box outside was trickiest but that's just because of install location. I also added a remote key fob which works well. I really like the way alarm sends you a text or email if it is triggered. All in all seems like a good alarm. Time will tell whether it stays a good alarm but I'm optimistic because I know the system inside out myself so could possibly fix if anything went wrong anyway 😀. Time will also tell with regards to battery life of sensors too. So far 10/10 alarm 😁

  • Great Product which should be supported from better manual and better application

For the money you pay it is a really good product. It does what it says. Not so easy to set up but if you get familiar with the manual you will eventually set it up. It works great. I have it for 4 days now and it does its job perfectly. I will be buying a few extras for sure. I will add up a few contact doors because they work excellent. I will also buy key fobs and i am really pleased with the shop i chose cause the alarm was delivered immediately and arrived earlier than i expected. What i didnt like is that the manual needs to be restructured. Also the external sirens' lights light up only when the alarm is triggered and i would like it to light up all the time or at least during night so the siren is visible. Also the application sometimes does not load and you need to kill the application and start up again but anyway you easily handle the system from the key pad. Overall i give it 4 stars because of all the above but consider that the cons i stated are not essential to the main aspect of the product.

  • Recommended

After a recent spate of burglaries in the area this was purchased. Pros. Fully wireless, easy set up, fully functional alarm that sends you notifications of any comings and goings to your house (useful to see the kids have left for school on time and have remembered to alarm the property) lets you know when batteries are low to give you adequate time to renew them, can purchase and add more PIR’s/door contacts... can arm alarm for use downstairs and move about freely upstairs (useful for nighttime visit to toilet/seeing to children) All in all, this alarm won’t stop intrusion, but it will certainly let you know if someone does. I’m happy with my Yale smart alarm and would recommend to anyone looking for a good alarm system that can be diy fitted by the average diy’er.

  • Very Easy Set up!

Read the instructions BEFORE Installing!! Very easy to set up Try and bring on line (initial start up) each piece of kit as you want to view in the app Bought extra keypad extra PIR 2 personal key fobs and a panic attack button which I consider are a necessity to make the alarm a good piece of kit If you buy the kit then consider you can expand the alarm at your leisure But I would recommend buying the "extras" so budget for these on initial purchase Once you get familiar with the app it is easy to manoeuvre practice makes perfect!!! Only downside I can see is changing the batteries on a regular basis specially the outside bell box so consider this when installing the bell box at height

  • Yale, smart home alarm kit. SR 320 WiFI

Once we had it all set up, it seems to be doing the trick! However, I had to use a YouTube video to show how to use the keypad. It took about 3 hours to set up the whole system. Husband went up the ladder and drilled holes( that was probably the hardest part. I did all the PIR/ door and keypad units in the house ( again will need a drill. For the door, sticky pads included). You’ll initially get lots of emails/ text when setting up. However, not having wires all over the house( as in our previous 20 year alarm system). I feel as the weeks go by and we get more use to it, we will forget about it and feel safe that our house is secure,

  • Nice & easy to set up

Nice & easy to set up, everything linked so no need to learn individual sensors to hub. Alarm inside & out loud. Only slight let down is the app that occasionally doesn't work so you need to restart it but I've had this problem with other apps from time time to time. Ability to buy & link extra sensors to system is great should you need to in the future.
