Replaced an older RTS1 thermostat. Same fittings, no re-wiring so replacing the unit was a two minute job (two screws and a clip). It looks different but that is purely cosmetic - The main difference is that this one works and the old one didn't (It would not switch on).

A good direct replacement for the old British Gas thermostat (the one with the stupid 'save' feature) as no extra wiring involved - goes straight on the old frame. Only downside is it is a very basic design and the set temperature is crude - so if you set it at 22c the heating will vary between 18c and 26c. But it's as cheap as chips so what do you expect?

Well it does what it says on the packet this Drayton room thermostat was easy to fit as I used the old backplate and thankfully Drayton haven't changed the design so it sits perfectly. It replaces our old cream coloured Drayton and for the first time we see the boiler switch on at 12deg instead of 22. So it's goodbye cream hello steam. I would recommend these anytime but make sure by removing the old one to see if it's the right wiring system this is a 3.. thanks tool station
