Multi media monitor
Unusually this monitor is large, has inbuilt speakers AND has a remote control.
If like me you'd rather not pay £150+ pa on a tv license this monitor is a great option.
The speaker quality is average but you do have a headphone output to use exterior speakers if required.
It has 2 hdmi inputs and the picture quality and response time is great. Only bug with mine was that in a dark room, a small amount of backlight leakage was visible at the screen borders when an otherwise black screen was being displayed. This might annoy some people.
Its very stylish in design and sturdy in construction.
The remote is high quality, with volume, brightness , input source selection, on/off and comprehensive on screen settings menu access. The volume and brightness buttons operating like mini joysticks to function, rather that a push or rocker action.
Each hdmi input can be set to av or pc mode.
Av = media , like blu ray or dvd players , pc a computer with a hdmi output . For pc setting the hdmi carries video and sound. In av mode you can set the screen aspect ratio to correctly display both widescreen and 4:3 video.
So on average a very useful display with uncommon but essential practical features. Just the odd idiosyncrasy and production quality glitch.
One last thing, the product description describes the screen as led, but to my untrained eyes its seems very similar to a backlit lcd screen but with excellent colour , resolution and response time.
