Not up to my standards
The package containing the fan arrived in less than pristine condition. It appeared the box had been opened at some point then resealed with packing tape. The base is a shiny plastic shell covering a high Density molded plastic bottom of sufficient weight to keep the fan steady on a level surface. This unit’s plastic shell had several areas of extensive scratches, highly visible due to the shiny surface. With the telescoping tube installed into the base, the assembly wobbles on a flat surface. The high spot seems to be the bolt which is used to hold the telescoping tube to the base. Rather than a hex headed bolt the shaft Is bent to form an “L” shape. Convenient to install the bolt and tighten it with no tools, but it stands higher than the edges pf the base, hence the wobble. This unit was also missing its model / manufacturer’s emblem in the center of the fan shroud. That round center section has a hole in its center, but is not a level surface, so would be difficult to place a non flexible emblem, but a adhesive backed vinyl one would likely work. This unit had nothing there. The face head fits easily on the tube and is held with 2 screws (marked “nuts" in the directions). Nothing provided to keep the screws from vibrating loose. The power cord contains a fuse ( like the ones you find in strings of holiday lights ). With the fan at its full height the power cord barely reaches the base of the fan. The fan worked at all three speeds and produced a fairly tight column of wind. The motor was quiet as advertised, with the fans noise level created by the rotating blades. Nothing unexpected there. The metal parts are not thick but reasonable for the use I will make of this product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

"BLOWN AWAY"
First of all, I will never buy an "All Plastic" fan again. This fan is built a lot stronger than all plastic fans. It does not oscillate but did not need that option, so I didn't have to pay for an option I would probably never use. No, at high speed it is not quiet, however, at low speed, it is very tolerable. Good base, telescopic, 3-speeds, and my fav, the Tilt Angle Head. I use this in the garage. Buy one good fan and it should last for years, not 2 cheap plastic fans, like me, now trash, that cost more than one good fan.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
