Great watch!
Interesting watch. Quick Rough draft: She never ages due to an accident with a shooting Star and a tragedy that occurs at the same time causing her to stop aging. The story over all tells her life over the years. How it changes and how she never does but longes to just be herself. It tells of her marriage and first child before the accident. Her losing her husband in the 50’s and raising a kid alone. Once the accident occurs and a couple of years pass the town starts noticing she never ages. They attempt to catch her once she gets pulled over by a cop whom questions her age compared to how she looks. She then runs- having to leave her child behind and the life she know . The years pass. Changing her identity every 10 years to stay unnoticed. Staying to herself. Learning tons of languages etc. he lives a quiet life. Lonely! She keeps in touch with her daughter. They finally meet and the daughter looks like her grandmother ( it’s almost awkward, but intriguing) her daughter and her meet on occasions... talking plans. Once the introduction of where she’s from, how it happened and the age of daughter... it shows her living in our times having a long past of love and loss. The new year approaches and while out she meets a man she notices immediately. He continues to chase her, while she pushes away. Once she gives a bit. They start dating, she finally unblocks her heart and agrees to a weekend trip to the new mans family home, where she walks in to find out he is the son of a man that she last loved and ran from many years prior. The dad almost noticed her immediately calling her by her old identity. The introduction is awkward and you can see the love he still has for her but lies and tells him she is daughter of the woman he once loved. saying her mother had passed ( being her) Him wondering bc she looks exactly the same, he digs a bit to find out it is her from a scar she had. Once he questions her away from the family, she does what she always does and runs. Not getting far calling her daughter to tell her she’s done running and loves the man. She decides to go back to the family home, but never makes it back due to a wreck that just happens to have the same shooting star that reverses the curse so she can age. She finally comes clean to her love interest and introduces the daughter, tells him the truth. The ending has her looking in the mirror at a grey hair and her smiling bc all she wanted was to grow old with a person she loved. Beautiful movie more to it than I described. Must watch. Incredible story with lots of wonderful twists and turns! Must see!
My wife is a movie buff and after we watched the Age of Adaline she shouted this movie just made my Top 5 list! We have since watched it three times over the last couple of days! I could watch this movie once a month for ever.
Blake Lively at her best and a surprise revelation at the end with Harrison Ford. Ellen Burstyn is just wonderful showing up in the latter third of the movie. One of the best I have seen. When Harrison Ford said Adaline was incapable of change, it wasn't completely correct. Adaline's mind changed. But her body or soul did not change. After Armageddon, this will be a reality. We will reverse aging until our bodies are perfect.
