    Definitely worth a read

    I have added this to my ever growing pile of Michael Mosley books but have not yet got round to reading it. My only concern is that it has very few menus in it and it means buying other 800 or 5:2 menu books. The concept of the 800 calorie diets is good and I have been able to reduce my HbA1c test results significantly over the last year. I intend to keep at it.

    Started the diet three days ago and have already shed two pounds. It is easy to follow and recommends that you stick with a fortnight of 800 calories a day to start. Apparently losing weight quickly has a more lasting effect than the slow burn We shall see. I have also been to the library and taken out suplementary books on the 5/2 diet for further ideas on meals

    One of the best books ever written on diets!! It is, for a pleasant change, actually doable, especially combined with 5:2 eating. People feel deprived if they "can't eat " certain foods for the foreseeable future BUT with this you are only restricted for 2 days per week. It is such an eyeopener when you actually start to count calories (which I have never done before!) and it makes you super aware of what you are eating on a non calorie reduced (fasting) day. Basically, it gradually trains you to want healthier foods, it's totally amazing, hence it's fantastic success. Also it is not just about losing weight but the proven health benefits are astounding and all without too much suffering! I love it and will always eat this way.

    I had a diagnosis of pre diabetes. Also need to loose weight in the middle .. I was referred to weight watchers for free but it's a long story but I found that was no good for me .. This book , based on science and trials, is easy to read and full of methods to reduce weight and lower blood sugars .. I found it brilliant .. I am following the method ..
