After graduating from the Royal College of Art in 1979, Clare Shenstone spent three years making more than 50 studies of Francis Bacon. Bacon had discovered Shenstone's work at her degree show, and he became her mentor, subject and friend. This catalogue features Shenstone's portraits of Bacon, as well as portraits of other familiar London faces. These range from well-known subjects from the London theatre and music world - including actress Zoe Wannamaker - to anonymous subjects such as the speaker at Hyde Park Corner. Shenstone's work is held in a number of private and public collections including The National Portrait Gallery and the Robert and Lisa Sainsbury Collection, UEA, Norwich.Product Identifiers
