This is a great film based on David Mamet's pulitzer award winning play. The play itself is a scathing attack on capitalism, and in particular american business and sales practices, showinf how it can turn otherwise okay people into lying, cheating, swindling, thieving con artists. Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Ed Harris, Alan Arkin, and Alec Baldwin all play con artist salesmen, three of whom are being pushed under by the corrupt sales system. Kevin Spacey plays ther office secretary, and Jonathan Pryce plays one of Al Pacino's sales "victims", someone who has been pushed over by the sales tactics into a purchase he'd rather not make. Everyone gives a stellar performance, though Al Pacino won an oscar nomination for best actor. In all fairness the whole cast does great, and in my opinion Jack Lemmon was possibly the most deserving of the nomination by the breadth of a hair. The soundtrack is great too, and features excellent musicianship from Saxophonist Wayne Shorter amongst others. Read full review
