  • Biggin Hill - A LOST OPPORTUNITY

This book would be of interest to anyone with a military history interest and/or service links with B/H. I have both and found it fascinating. What a tragedy that this country is now so weak and feeble, bereft of funds, that someone didn't think that B/H should be saved for the nation with all aspects of its structure complete as a lasting recognition of the Battle of Britain. Of all RAF Fighter Command stations, B/H was THE one the public still associates with the Battle. A lost opportunity of which we should all be thoroughly ashamed. Just think what sort of theme park the Americans would make of it - still!

  • It does what it says on the tin. Spooky but nice!

This book reflects the true soul of Biggin Hill, not just the RAF sation. Similar books could probably be written about all wartime RAF stations but Biggin Hill is just that bit special. This is a very good read, full of interest. I love re-visiting the area which has changed almost beyond recognition but it still retains it's magic.
