On the 1st of May 1928, and fitted with a corridor tender, 'Flying Scotsman' undertook the first non-stop run from London to Edinburgh. In December 1948 'Flying Scotsman' was once again renumbered as a result of the nationalisation of the railways, becoming No. 60103.
