  • Brilliant stuff from a brilliant writer

How delightful to come across a book that is so beautifully written about such a compelling subject. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who has keen eyesight (the font size is about 8 point) and strong fingers (the book is 700 pages long - about 4 cm thick and therefore difficult to hold). I am about a quarter of the way through and can barely wait to pick it up again, sore eyes and fingers notwithstanding.

  • Great read

Jones tells a compelling tale of politics, science and hunches during a dark time in our history. He describes with clarity the scientific advances made in the detection and jamming of enemy radar systems and balances this with an insight of the people he meets and day to day living in London in the blitz

  • Legendary account of science and subterfuge in WW2 - and of the bungling of certain "experts". A lesson for us all.
