Should be reprinted
This book is out of print and I got it from a dealer who supplied an excellent copy at a reasonable price.#The title may niot be appropriate in these PC days but in context it is spot on. Set in the Pensinsular war this is an excellent study in the mindset of a lone individual, separated from his unit and determined to continue to do his duty. It's a great British story of pride & endurance, two traits this country is desperately short of these days.In my youth we were brought up to have pride in King ( Queen) & country' to respect people & property & now no one could care less - unless you are over 45/50. Its the story of a lone British sailor's fight against a German warship that has arrived at the island to carry out repairs.
