Yes, I recommend this book to anyone else is learning to sew or hasn't sewn in a while and needs some reminders. All the basics are here. I wish though that they hadn't cut out the decor and for men section in this edition. I guess that it's not really necessary anymore. Even though a lot of people think the first edition is very dated, the techniques are the same so if you can look past the oldy look it's well worth it and more complete. Will have to keep a look out for an older edition.

Not as good as the older version it was less superfluous ...more to the point and more practical and useful.

This was recommended to me by my tutor at college and seemingly full of not only basic techniques but more advance ones as well. Good to have on your bookshelf in case of difficulties.

I bought this book to help with sewing . I would definitely recommend it to anyone starting out as its a well of knowledge about the basics of sewing. It explains things very clearly as opposed to some books where you're still scratching your head after their explanation. It can be picked up quite cheaply and its definitely a good reference book to have on the shelf .
