Not "All Metal", held together with a plastic tube in the middle, with no additional means of binding. Does fit Fisher refill but not powertank.
It is a nice pen. Some people say it fits the Uniball Powertank refills, but I can assure you this isn't the case.
Also, It isn't as strong as you might expect it to be. Lots of people incorrectly describe it as "All metal", but this isn't the case either, as the core of the pen is in fact made of thin plastic. Mine snapped after applying "Test" force...
I was expecting it to hold up to the test, but it snapped with no warning because it is held on the inside with a plastic tube, and the 2 halves of the pen are not secure in any other way than by the plastic tube in the middle; once that is snapped, the pen is broke, above the knurl grip, and you can't weld it back or anything, because the plastic tube will melt, and the plastic tube can't be removed because that's what the bottom of the pen screws into.
I must say, I was a little disappointed because someone said the powertank refills fit, and they clearly don't, and also because someone said it is all metal, and again, it is not, but it earned some stars because, if I hadn't applied excessive force, it wouldn't have snapped. I was expecting it to be stronger than it was. I took a gamble and it didn't pay off.
Using the refill that came with the pen, it was smooth, and not a bad writing experience. It does work with the fisher space pen refill, but its click action is not quite as smooth.
It would absolutely stand up to normal use, but don't apply too much force as I did, because it WILL snap suddenly, with no warning or creaking of any kind because of the plastic insert that holds the whole thing together.
