I've used induction hobs for almost fifteen years, and can't understand why anyone would want any other type - they're more controllable and far cleaner than gas, far quicker than other electric hobs - gas is 19th Century, other electric hobs are 20th, and induction hobs are 21st! This particular model is great value for money, but there are a couple of things that could be better - one of the plates is much higher wattage than the other, and brings things to the boil brilliantly, but isn't so good for a low simmer - it would be better if both were the same lower wattage. Strangely, there's no 'off' switch for the individual plates - you can switch them on separately but if you've been using both and only want one, all you can do is remove the pan and wait for the the warning signal to stop and the safety cut-off to work - the end result is the same but not very satisfactory! Finally, I've only had this hob for a few weeks so can only hope that I'll still be able to speak highly of it in five or even ten years time.Read full review

Perfect for my needs. Having never used the induction method of cooking I was wary of buying this but it has proved to be an amazing way of cooking. It looks good (albeit rather large), is very easy to control and uses very little electricity. The pans get hot within seconds and it's even easier to control the temp than a gas hob. Overall I am very pleased, the reason I only gave 3 stars is because there is some cosmetic damage as seen in the photos, I am assuming this is why it was over £20 cheaper than other places and is perhaps a second or return. As this does not affect the use I am not too bothered about it.

It is well built and stylish, so visually appealing. It has very clear and large indicators. There is only one point we are not particularly happy with, but are now getting used to, ie the hot plate zones cannot be turned off separately.

previously i had used a competitor make (ambiano ) and was impressed, gave it to a friend , an bought this , there are several short comings 1) the controls are not fine enough , there is no real control of heat rates or levels to produce good control of the cooking process , a good test is scrambled egg and this unit just does not allow scrambled egg without burning 2) cannot get a controlled steady simmer or rolling boil or low level heat for risotto 3) temperature function , is a waste of time ; un-reproducible readings this product needs a drastic total redesign ( if i was not in virus lock-down , it would be on its way back ) if you can find them, buy two ambiano units , same physical space; better performance; easier and more enjoyable to use also, when i contacted the company on a simple question of the layout of the support feet , they did not know and that was the answer ie no supportRead full review
