About this product

Product Information

'Wondrous - brilliantly inventive, full of dazzling set pieces. Not simply the most original novel I've read in years - it's also one of the best' The Times OVER TEN MILLION COPIES SOLD The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a murder mystery novel like no other. The detective, and narrator, is Christopher Boone. Christopher is fifteen and has Asperger's Syndrome. He knows a very great deal about maths and very little about human beings. He loves lists, patterns and the truth. He hates the colours yellow and brown and being touched. He has never gone further than the end of the road on his own, but when he finds a neighbour's dog murdered he sets out on a terrifying journey which will turn his whole world upside down. 'Outstanding...a stunningly good read' Observer 'Mark Haddon's portrayal of an emotionally dissociated mind is a superb achievement... Wise and bleakly funny' Ian McEwan Winner of the Whitbread Book of the Year **ONE OF THE GUARDIAN'S 100 BEST BOOKS OF THE 21st CENTURY**

    Understanding life with Asperger

What a great guide to understanding the things that are important and why they are. I realised I have Aspergers in retirement and now I know why childhood was so different for me. Funny in places, sad in others - just like life.

  • Most critical review

    Not good

Hard to read, and uninteresting. As someone with Aspergers, the writer has gone completely OTT with the main character's symptoms, which ultimately made it hard to read. I'm a keen reader and I gave up after a 3rd of the way in, which is rare for a me as I usually stick with it but it's structure was frustrating.

  • Curious to Read On.....

Excellent read. I’ve easily read this more then 5 times over the years. Beautifully written, hilarious in parts. Insight into a mind with communication and Aspergers.

  • I couldn't put it down

I love this story, it is one of the best reads in a long time. It has drama, mystery, sadness and humour all rolled into on.

  • Love the title - made me curious..

Excellent story, intriguing and a real in-site into how a person with autism views events in life. I found this book hard to put down.

  • Amazing book to understand mind of autistic people

This book is incredible at showing how the mind of an autistic person works. It sheds so much light on autism and should be mandatory reading for all who work with autistic people and should be highly recommended for all who are carers (e.g. parents) of autistic people.
