This book features a foreword by Bernie Ecclestone. The Brands Hatch circuit in Kent is a motorsport mecca, and was once the busiest motorsport venue in the world. Scene of many classic Formula One and sports car races, as well as numerous other international, national and club events, the circuit is currently undergoing a renaissance under the ownership of Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision company. Here is the definitive history of Brands Hatch, featuring the events, cars, motorcycles and characters that have made it Britain's best-loved motor racing circuit.

  • Serious omissions indicate that this is not the 'definitive' history it claims to be.

Between 1966 and 1977 there were 30 Brisca (British Stock Car Racing Association) Formula 1 meetings held at Brands Hatch. The cars raced on the circuit's undulating inner oval track. There is no mention of these meetings. The photograph (page 147) of Nicki Lauda urinating on some plastic binbags in the pits does not contribute to the notion that Chas Parker's book is, as described, a 'definitive history' of Brands Hatch. The inclusion of the 30 Brisca meetings, however, would certainly have gone some way towards helping this book earn it's 'definitive' title. The exclusion of 30 race meetings over a 10 year span leads me to wonder what else the author has left out.
