Once you have started page one it is hard to put down, a real page turner.
Jon Cleary's novel "The Sundowners" is a brilliantly told story of Australian outback life. A tale of survival, hard knocks, a desire for a better way of life but most of all humour too. A great read. You can almost smell the gum trees, hear the kookaburras, and see the red dust as the family travel from place to place seeking work.
