Informative and riveting
This is the best book I have read on H H Asquith. It deals with him as a man and not just as the talented statesman he undoubtedly was. There is so much good stuff here about his first wife Helen, who died young and the acerbically witty Margot. also a lot about the sons. Raymond died at the battle of the somme in 1916. Violet his one and only daughter became a prominent and outspoken Liberal who, sadly, never made it into Parliament. lots of excellent photographs too.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
