He falls in love with Shamhat, a singer from the temple, and he follows her back to Uruk. There, Enkidu, the uncivilized beast from the forest, shows the evil Gilgamesh through friendship what it means to be human.

What incredible beautiful pictures !
Amazing pictures and an excellent retelling of this famous old story. You can look at the pictures for hours and the text is simple enough for a child to read with a little bit of help over the unusual names. We have now got all 3 books in the series and delighted with them. Will look out for more art work by Ludmila Zeman!
