Blitz Boy is a book of stories related to the child evacuation at the beginning of World War 2. It is very short indeed (just over 100 pages) with lots of old photos and covers a boys initial evacuation to a home in Cornwall where he was not well treated. The stay was short and he was moved to other places some with his mother and sister. The stories occur during the whole war covering meetings with American GI’s and local people and also on the eventual return to a heavily bombed London. The author has a very good memory and I enjoyed the tales but I would have expected a lot more details on the effects if any of the war! Readable in a few hours!
