About this product
Product Information
The Search for the Perfect Golf Club is the first book that explains to the golfing layman how and why golf clubs work the way they do. It lets them in on the secrets that will allow them to spend their money more wisely and start enjoying the game more. It is the one book EVERY golfer needs to read! Golf is about having fun. Simply put, this book is about understanding its tools and removing some of the barriers that keep it from being more fun for more people. Each year golfers spend 4.7 billion dollars on golf equipment, yet know less about that equipment than almost any other consumer item. This leads to millions of golfers playing with clubs that can't possibly meet their needs. And this, in turn, leads to a kind of equipment-induced frustration that is a leading factor in nearly 3 million people leaving the game each year. It's time this exodus stopped!
Ok more info than I actually required but that's ok. Goes a bundle on 'custom fitting' so that your clubs match you - I get the point but you don't have to ram it home! One star less for that.
This will tell you everything about the golf club 'industry' and its marketing but tell you the truth about that marketing so it's a worthwhile read. It's written in a no b.s. style and the technical stuff is explained. It might stop you from buying a load of expensive stuff as well so it is certainly worth it from that point of view for sure. I'm glad I read this and no regrets about buying it.

i am halfway through this book and I love it . Tom Wishon obviously knows his stuff about golf and knows exactly how to put it across to us (the readers) . If you love golf and want to know how golf clubs perform and why they are built the way they are then read this book . Its ten years old but still up to date enough to relate to all contents and things have not progressed that much in golf that it sound out dated .
