An excellent book although there are no photographs or line drawings of the recipes. The book is fully comprehensive of recipes from the easy to the very elaborate. The recipe names are in french but the recipes are all in English. There is one page of line drawings how to joint poultry and some pages are headed by quirky,irrelevant cartoon like drawings, which I think are unnessary. There are recipes for eggs,meat,fish,dairy through to desserts, something for everyone. Just pick and choose for Al Fresco,dinner parties,picnics or barbecues. The book is full of tips,it's a bit dated in parts, but you can use these for a retro party. Fanny Cradock certainly knew how to entertain, and there are loads of recipes to choose from, some are an acquired taste but the vast majority are fantastic. Your party will be successful with these recipes. 5 out of 5 for this book. As retro meals are making a comeback there's plenty to choose from in this book, as you are spoilt for choice which to use first
