Excellent tool to hold the chain saw bar in place to assist sharpening. Previously I worked from the side using a vice on a workbench. I bit awkward and left the metal filings on the floor of the garage but worked okay. I can carry this tool with me so I could sharpen on site if necessary rather than use a second chain or return to the garage. I just need a suitable log or stump to hold the vice in place. The vice holds the end of the chain bar in place & I prefer to kneel behind the saw so that my knees prevent any movement of the handle and I am looking directly along the line of the chain (rather than at the side from a right angle) which I find makes it easier to achieve consistant strokes with the file. So far I have only needed to sharpen when at home but prefer to use this vice in the garden rather than use the vice on my workbench. It cost me £6.98, delivered quickly to my house, very easy to use & looks so strong that it will outlast me.Read full review

Does what it's made for, cheap and good value. Not sure about durability as I've only used it twice
