Read this before visiting The Quantocks.
First published in 1964 by Vincent Wait, this book remains a classic. It is packed with historical information about the Quantocks and its people of the past that have left their mark on the area. It has many photographs to study from many local people in the main, including the old firm of H.H.Hole of Williton, a producer of photographic post cards for a very long time of local views, and a personal favourite of mine. I include an early picture (not in the book) of the CASTLE OF COMFORT, to accompany the story of one John Walford, just before the time when the poet Wordsworth lived in the area. The story is in this book.
