Ghost King and the Last Sword of Power were absolute genius only a master writer like Gemmell could produce. Ghost king was my first novel and made me buy his entire collection. This series could have opened up some amazing historical periods which Gemmell was a master of but I fear the Jon Shannon novels were below par for his amazing writing ability and far removed from the two starting books. However those two are worth 20 books of the best authors so worth the buy.
