A must for musicians of worldwide interest.
For anyone interested in music, non-western, I would recommend the book. Just to take one chapter, I found the complexity of Indian music remarkable. Similarly, to learn how music fits into daily life so differently, area by area, we do not normally think about. The author also gives a most useful historical background to each chapter.
