If you want to know about Derbyshire in the canal age, I recommend this title.
The actual book was in good condition until I got my hands on it! The content of the book is well researched and knowledgeable, a mine of information about the works themselves, the economic imperatives which led to them, the difficulties encountered, and the people involved in building and working them. It is Written in a very accessible manner, and very enjoyable to read through.
