Disappointing
The description of this describes it as restaurant grade lumpwood charcoal, and I am unsure what restaurant grade means after using it. It is certainly poorer quality than lumpwood charcoal bought from B&Q or other DIY retailers. It was dropped off the van (literally) as 2 sacks taped together. The description also recommends breaking up the larger lumps for convenience. Actually, I couldn't find any lumps big enough to warrant breaking up, or I would have been cooking with powder. There was also a fair amount of un-charred wood, twigs, string and other rubbish mixed in.
The most disappointing feature is the heat output. I have to use twice as much charcoal than I normally would use, and the heat output is still very poor - with longer heating-up times and a very short cooking window.
I blame myself for trying to get a better product at a lower price by buying this way, but I have learned from the experience.
