Sturdy and well designed.
It is sturdy and well designed. It is 'easy' to use, but obviously still hard work as very manual work. I have a compacted clay garden and needed to aerate it. I did have to push many of the cores out with a stick. Much better design than the type which look like a garden fork, this is easier to push with feet. Very hard work on compacted clay soil!!
Nice idea and videos on line show soil popping out of each tine which looks great. Unfortunately on compacted heavy soil, which is where you really need this, it is very very hard to insert it into the ground. I have found that no soil/plugs pop out of the top as the soil is so solid. Therefore you would only be making large holes. This is fine but I have reverted to using a folk which, although still hard, is far better to use. I would not put you off getting the product as in the right lawn I'm sure would work very well.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Should be good when the ground is more receptive
Unfortunately with us being on sand rock the lawn drains very quickly and is therefore rather dry. This meena that we are unable to use the tool as tyhe ground is too hard. We will however try again in the autimn and winter when the ground is likely to be soft.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Well made but gets clogged too easily
The product is stout and well made, unfortunately the hollow tines get clogged with earth and I have to use an electric drill to clear them after just a couple of uses. I have had to return to using a garden fork. Maybe its just my soil..Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Worth a try but difficult to use
Blocks quickly when the ground is wet even though I have light sandy soil. Improving as it dries out but not yet good enough to use for more than a few minutes without having to clear out the tubes. Will keep trying it as the lawn dries as it is badly compacted.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
