The Husqvarna Viking Sapphire 835 is a great machine to step into from the "traditional" machine we think of. The Sapphire 835 offers the Exclusive Sensor System or EES. It automatically senses the thickness of what's under the presser foot. Continually checking the thickness it changes how much pressure is needed for even precise sewing. It runs over any thickness you throw at it. Makes hemming jeans a cinch when coming onto and getting through that bulky side seam. With the needle down activated turning corners and following curves is almost like sewing with power steering. Every time you stop sewing the needle lands down and the foot pops up in a hoover position so you have both hands free to control your work. So it eliminates having to physically lift the presser foot. It does it for you. Two sewing lights let's you get a good view of your sewing area. The throat of the machine is 10" deep so it can accommodate most double size to queen size quilting. The obstacle of quilting wall hangings, table runners and baby quilts will fade away with the ease of this machine. And of course winding a bobbin while the needle is threaded is always been a standard of Husqvarna Viking. Machine comes with a good array of decorative stitches, quilting stitches and of course mending and buttonholes to choose from. Upper and lower case alphabet including numbers (not to mention the "@") will let you label any project you finish. Three cutters ( By the needle, bobbin area and bobbin winding) add to making sewing easier. Last but not least is the jam free hook Husqvarna Viking has always had make sewing that much more enjoyable. Excellent quality for the price
I have a 40 year old Viking sewing machine which I have loved but I cannot use for machine quilting as there are no free motion presser feet that work with it. I needed to upgrade to a newer machine but one I could afford. This machine did all the things I needed such as needle stopping in the down position, programmable adjustments for the the free motion presser foot, stitching speed adjustments and a longer arm than my little portable old Viking. It arrived in good condition, looking brand new. It took a little to figure out all the new computerized settings but it is enough like my old machine to easily adapt. Great machine
this machine is in near perfect condition sews beautifully makes my machine applique so easy the special pivit makes it so easy to get into tight turns and corners where you take 2 or 3 stitches and pivit.
