Resolution, transparency and dynamics are top notch!
The XP is one of Cyrus's highest performing integrated amplifiers. The d is because it has a DAC and the Qx is because it has had a DAC upgrade. What a difference this makes to the sound! I use an optical connection into one of its 11 inputs to connect a mac mini. The sound is fantastic! This amp is just sublime in resolving detail in a wide range of music; from the Foo Fighters through Pink Floyd to a spot of Vivaldi, this amp makes the very best of whatever you can throw at it. It has a variety of analogue and digital connections that can allow a wide degree of expansion. Whilst not overly powerful, it will do an excellent job on it's own. I've been using a CD transport with this and the Qx DAC in this is so good. It outperforms the likes of the current CDi (who's DAC is not as good as this is according to Cyrus themselves.) If you are thinking about purchasing one of these, the only thing you need to think about really is your upgrade path. If (like me) you are looking for a power amp to join it and you want something special to crunch the numbers from other sources, this is the one for you.
