I bought this product off the back of recommendations from friends and also playing and enjoying similar games, such as Fallout 3. I found that despite being a little outdated Oblivion stands up well against more recent titles, things like the graphics obviously aren't quite as sharp as newer games, but they are not unpleasent and the gameplay and variety is still entertaining. I don't own the original package of Oblivion, but what I can say is the 5th Anniversary Edition offers virtually unending amounts of gameplay, at least 40+ hours, and at such a low price, offers excellent value for money. Well worth a try.
OK so this game is slightly dated now and TES-V : Skyrim is released in a couple of months but I loved this game so much that I've purchased and completed it in both PC and XBox 360 format. This game brings such a sense of freedom (when you emerge into daylight for the first time and view the beauty of Cyrodiil, the music sparks up and takes your breath away), the voice characters and animation are spot on, the levelling is interesting and sophisticated. I cannot warn you enough though that should you become hooked on this game that you will lose several weeks of your life trying to "close shut the jaws of Oblivion". Loved it, can't wait for the next one!
Excellent free roam facility allows you to do lots of side tasks while doing the main mission. I also enjoyed the ability to talk to anyone in the game and the guilds you work with give you extra weapons and spells. Overall a great value game recommended to any who like roll playing and action based games. Excellent customisation possibilities at the start of the game, you can do and be whoever you want to be.
This was a gift for my grand daughter, she is thrilled with it.
