About this product

Product Information

Celebrates the graphic design genius of Barney Bubbles, whose work links the underground optimism of the 1960s to the sardonic and manipulative art which accompanied punk's explosion. He remains a powerful influence on contemporary art more than 25 years after his death. Bubbles designed for Sir Terence Conran and created record sleeves for Ian Dury, Billy Bragg, Elvis Costello and Nick Lowe. This new expanded, revised and updated edition of this award-winning artbook contains hundreds of rare and unpublished photographs, working sketches, notebooks and original artwork. • Awesome pics

I knew of Barney Bubbles from The Damned & Hawkwind album covers but it was interesting to read and see all the other bands he has worked for over the years. He was a very talented bloke and the author did an awesome job of portraying his work. Leave it on your coffee table and it will always be picked up. Oh and the author Paul Gorman personally signed my copy which makes it extra special, so wash your hands first :O)

  • Get Happy!

A fascinating book about a guy who designed so much of my youth, but I didn't even realise who he was. Having read this book and seen his work lid out so impressively, and with an absorbing, fascinating biography, I can appreciate all he gave the world of art, design, rock, pop and prog!
