Sony CFD-G55 Boombox
Better buy these older Sony radios with the Power Drive (sub)Woofer. They don't make them any longer. These radios provide the bass response lacking in any typical portable music player - even Sony brands. The Bose systems are better, but not portable. I bought this radio for my home office and garage to move back and forth as needed. Plus, I did not want to spend as much or more than these radios cost originally. Some people are out there trying to gouge the gullible. I still have cassette tapes that aren't good enough to transfer to CD. This radio performs perfectly with the radio, cassette and CD. In addition, it has the input mini jack to play mp3 & iPod players. My wife even commented that the radio really sounded good. Damaged arrival
I was excited to receive the cd player earlier than date expected. But It was damaged in transport. The front plate was damaged. and cracked and the lip that holds the plate in was broke. the plastic was broke. The sound is terific and I think it's durable too! I would not call it compact because it's 18inch by 7.75 by 13 inchs! I loved it because it has a tape player, Cd player, and radio also! Great boombox!
