Quality product, accurately described, the 9300-8i runs stable
You can feel confident buying from The Art of Server. You'll first notice the effort put into detailing everything about the product. And the 9300-8i arrived as described. Listed firmware is accurate, which is very important. For me, half the value of the card was that it would be pre-flashed to the firmware I knew was the most recent. Some sellers may list a particular most recent firmware revision, but then ship a card with outdated firmware. If that happens, you should not use the card. Know that it can be exceedingly problematic to update the firmware yourself. My application is for direct connections to the SATA drives. It's a good idea, before buying, to find a diagram of PCIe lanes for your board because there may be limitations or bandwidth sharing that are neither specified in a motherboard's marketing, nor even in its manual -even for high-end boards. To speed up boot times, you could either disable the controller within its boot BIOS or try to remove the BIOS altogether (some HBA cards are sold without reinstalling the BIOS after frimware flashing. That's a feature you either want or don't want).
