It alshas an overload protection feature in case an excessive signal is applied, in which case coupling automatically switches to 1MΩ to prevent possible damage. Its exceptional electromagnetic compatibility makes it well-suited for high-RF situations such as computer manufacturing, servicing, and testing. Acceptable wear and tear for a 1990s scope
Considering the age of the 2465B, the one I bought had acceptable wear and tear. It's in good functional order and the only signs of use were: a) Trigger level knob broken. I swapped it for the trigger holdoff knob, but for £30 or less you can buy a complete Tek 2465B front panel repair kit with all knobs and the panel itself. b) Y input 1 BNC socket has a slightly dodgy connection c) front cover has a chunk bitten out of it Inside, the scope was clean and there was no 'HT muck' around the tube base. It is a truly excellent piece of equipment and a joy to use. The scope was sold 'basically working' but was not reconditioned and had no guarantee, so I got lucky! The vendor's delivery charge from Canada to UK was over 200, which is exorbitant. Added to that were customs charges of 80, bringing the total scope cost to over £700. For about the same price, you can buy a reconditioned Tek 2465B from a UK company with a 1 year guarantee. If you're in UK I would advise you do this, but if you live in the US or Canada, it would be far better value for money.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Classic Scope

Tektronix the true oscilloscope manufacture
Tektronix has made it their mission to design, build and mass market research test equipment for industry, that exceeds specifications and almost last indefinitely and thus made older equipment's avail at great prices for the average R&D, consumer and as in this Oscilloscope which handles 400 MHZ multi-channel for my use (RF). Great Buy
Tektronix 2465B is a great oscilloscope and these days available for a very reasonable price. The appearance is so nice that if I didn't know that it is probably 30+ years old and analog, I would have thought it may be just five or eight years, and well-maintained on top.
