Blast from the Past
Though the price was VERY high, I'm glad to have this set in my collection. I grew up watching this, so it's as if I'm seeing old friends again. As to the price, well, it appears to be a series that's in high demand (which actually surprises me--I had assumed I would end up being one of the only ones looking for what I had believed to be an obscure series!), so that's the nature of the free market: lots of demand + small quantity = higher prices. And it was just as I remembered it, with quite a few surprises, too. (For instance, I had completely forgotten there was a theme song!) But the ending irritated me only because they don't really wrap up the love story between Zorro (Diego) and Victoria. Oh, well. A certain warmth emanates from it, a group of friends committed to a just community. Zorro helps a lot of people and completely selflessly. There is some fighting but not as bad as in today's film. Today's movies are getting rougher, more insensitive, it's exactly just about killing and a lot of macho behavior.
