Nice supermicro motherboards
Great dual socket motherboard at great price. I got 4 of them to process some documents. One of them had similar problem when compared to the one I already owned. For some reason the motherboard didn't like fully populated memory slots. It's not a issue for my applications. You can do a lot with 32 threads per server node. Worked out of the box.
Item was very clean, dust free. BIOS was already updated so it works with Bulldozer Opterons(e.g. 6276, but you need a fan on top of passive cooler). Tested, running with ECC or non ECC RAM. Only SATA2 is supported. Tried with Windows Server(though balanced power plan strangely sticks to lowest frequency even under load) and Xen Server, works.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Fantastic performance for the dollar.
Bought it largely for running chess engines, media transcoding, and other assorted twiddling. With 2x 6176 Opterons, it outperforms all the 8/16 Ryzen and i7 offerings, and nips at the heels of the i9 chips. With 16-core opterons being very cheap these days, I picked this board up as part of a compile/render farm I'm building. Having onboard IPMI means I can throw this board in a corner with just power and network connected, fill it to the brim with cheap ECC DDR3, and let it run.
