What could have should have might have been brilliant failed to be
This could have been the greatest small/mid sized amp, I got a 550 first that was great sounding but had undisclosed cosmetic and fuctional issues, so I got a 525 here, in mint cond. worked great and sounded great EXCEPT: The clean mode on ch. 1 had so much hiss is was annoying, why is the Burn mode quieter then the Clean mode? The Reverb sound was muffled dark and was either on or off basically. This was not a tube issue I tried other tubes, same exact issues. You might get lucky and get a good one, but take a look at the circuit inside and you will see there is not way for a normal person to work on these.

Awesome Value Amp
I bought the Express 5:25 as a backup to my main gigging amp which is an Express 5:50 Plus. I wasn't sure about how different the non-plus version would be since they were discontinued. I would say this amp is 95% as close to the Plus version. The difference is mostly features such as the EQ, the contour control, and foot-switch. The sound quality is excellent. If your looking for a great sounding amp with fewer bells and whistles at a super value, look no more.

Solid for practice
Solid amp for practice but if you’re looking for that signature, deep bottom end, brilliant highs then you’ll be disappointed. Bought one as to downsize my JVM215 50-watt Marshall but found it to be truly lacking even at lower volumes. Good, on the one hand, but no comparison. Will likely sell this in another month or two as frankly there’s no comparison to that of a Marshall.

Awesome Tone at a Turn of the Wrist!!!
These Amps don't have the 5 way Equalizer option as the Express Plus, but the Circuitry is the Same!!! These offer Great Tones at the Turn of a Wrist!!! Much Better than Constantly Fine Tuning 5 separate Levers!!!
