Great if you want the history rather than the mystery.
The book is long winded and historically factual, defining details and time lines whilst compartmentalising each and every avenue of Shinto. I personally like the philosphy but this booked bored me to sleep with it's labelling facts rather than embracing the spirit and invoking contemplations and wonder.
