The open clubface makes it a tad harder to keep left. You need to play a cut unless you're very skillfull. I took it out for 18 for the first time yesterday and my first drive went 330+ dead center of the fairway leaving me with a wedge to the green. Had a couple nasty slices but I'm still a rookie. Overall this driver sounds and feels great when you hit it. I would recommend maybe a 9.5 instead of an 8.5 if you have trouble getting it into the air. And don't get an extra stiff flex if you don't hit it around 300. There is nothing bad to say about this club. The white crown and black face really make it easy to focus on alignment. The crown has an anti glare finish which is the first I've seen on the expensive drivers. The main difference between this tp club and the regular burner 2.0 is the shaft. This shaft will add 20 to 30 yards to your drive ATLEAST. Like I said the head is shaped differently and will give you more performance but almost requires you to hit a cut. All in all I have nothing bad to say about this club. All of my clubs are nike from 3 wood to wedge and my putter also, but I will never not have a taylormade driver in my bag after my experience with this monster.Read full review
Yes, these clubs really are beasts! I hit high on the face a lot but when it's in the center it's like Albert Pujols against Brad Lidge! Seriously, the only thing wrong with this club is that it has no adjustment features. It's true that it's an anti-draw club. I had the Ti-Bubble 2 Driver and it took the whole fairway to fit in my draw ball flight. Watch the shafts. The Diamana is a bit more anti-draw than the Blur 55. Poor Taylormade, this is a sleeper and they failed to recognize the need for tuneability.
Good club for experienced players. Most players hit a cut or slice but this club promotes that ball flight being toe weighted. It helps me straighten otu as my miss is kind of a snap at times so this club helps minimize it. I simply love this club but gave it a 4 as it isnt suited for all. If yo uarent accurate off the tee the longer shaft will make it tougher as well, but if yo uare accurate I get an extra 5-10 yards from the first superfast... good luck!
Price was such a steal, I couldn't resist buying the darn thing eventhough I has a Stiff Shaft. To my great surprise, I have been hiting the ball very well. Compared to my old Cobra, the ball seems to fly off the club face even when hit slighly off center. In life, as in golf, you're better off keeping it in the Fairway!
I bought the TP version with the Matrix HD6 shaft. I am a scratch golfer and play mostly tournament golf. The ball comes off the face on a line with very little spin. Launch it high for more carry and launch it low for lots of roll. It will be in my bag for a long while. It plays a little stiffer than I expected so I would definitely try it first if you can.
I was looking for a driver with a lower loft. I already have this driver in 9.5 but I hit it too high with no roll. I average 260 yards in carry with very little roll and if it's a little wet it actually will bounce backwards. This driver still has the carry but get thirty to fourty yards of roll. since I got this driver i've had more than twenty drives over 300 yards all the way up to 337 yards. If i can find another driver exaclly just like this one I will buy it in case I break this one. extremely extremely extremely satisfied.
This driver's face is HOT! The ball just jumps off the club face when it is hit on the sweet spot. I love the white/black contrast. It is easy to lineup and the driver beams with a confident and aggressive look. This driver is going to be in my bag for quite sometime. I prefer the TP version because of the slightly smaller head and 1 degree open face. If you have problems slicing than this is NOT the driver for you. If you have a tendency to hook the ball more than this driver will prevent the hook but you can still work the ball with a draw or a fade.
Played the previous TM superfast TP Burner & the 2.0 is even better. Longer & straighter. If left is your usual miss, the new toe weight helps big time. Diffficult to hook this driver, so aim it down the sprinkler line and rip it. The Matrix Ozik is a great stock shaft for this driver. Love it, love it, love it!
Very solid driver, have the Blur 55gram stiff. Club sets up perfect, not closed and white head aids in alignment. Feels a touch harder than normal, but flies off the face with speed. Takes the left side of the course out of play. Best driver I have found for a person that fights a hook/draw.
Easy club to hit. The Ozik HD6 shafts and the Taylormade 2.0 head are a great fit for my game. I suspect they really fit the average golfer much better than the R11 does. If long, straight and forgiving are what you are looking for. Better take a look at this one.
