PROS: Lightweight, VR, fast reliable focus, excellent range. CONS: A bit soft on focus (sharpness) when images are viewed @ 100%. Though I found adding a little touch of sharpness in PS fixed this. There is some noticeable barrel roll effect in horizontal lines at wide angles. (Most of the CONS here I don't think will effect most shooters, but are visible to pixel peepers) I assume the way more costly new version of this lens (F/4) is way sharper but I've yet to test this.

Lens was rated in avg. condition. I would rate it higher. It was pristine ,no dust not a spot on it.. no wear marks; focus , aperture, and zoom were like new

After using this for a week this looks like it will be a good all-around lens. The zoom range will cover most of the pictures I'm after. And the image quality is what my (unprofessional) eye was looking for. There is some distortion / pin-cushioning in the corners as should be expected. I am pleased with the image quality over my previous DX lenses. A definite step up. Given the price these are going for, I definitely recommend it for a good quality general purpose lens.

This lens is vary sharp, compare on dxomark to 24-70 2.8 VR, 24-120 lens at F11 is green on full range of 24-35-50-70 where 24-70 2.8 VR has yellow in every field. Measurements/Sharpness/FieldMap, Great lens and range for the price. around $200 used. Also focus is quick, controls are smooth.

Some people complain about distortion. Most newer cameras if the firmware is up to date will automatically correct for the issues. If not, most good computer photo software will. This is a great lens that you can just leave on your camera for high quality photos every time.
